City Building, a multi-family housing development in Maboneng, Johannesburg, has recently been completed and is already at 90% letting capacity. The building, part of the Lightwell Properties portfolio, comprises 7 unit types that make up for the 280 beds across six floors that span an entire city block in length.
The building hugs a central courtyard, with swimming pool, that connects to a children’s homework room and play space on the ground floor of the Jooste and Bryants heritage building. The renovation of this heritage monument was undertaken as part of the new-build project and comprises an additional 8 residential units.
Public spaces are woven throughout the building by means of accessible roof terraces with the most significant being the roof terrace The building’s rooftop, with an area of 920 square meters offers views across to the Ponte and the Hillbrow Towers making it the perfect backdrop for a braai.
