Hill Café Featured in Business Day

“Light Meal on a Hill. The new café at Constitution Hill breathes fresh life into the concept of a museum restaurant. The Hill Café has been designed as a lit-up pavilion floating on a wooden deck that extends from the old warden’s office. Just the sight of it is refreshing. Its zigzag roofline and detailing give it impact, while its lightness and temporality defer to the site, a way of paying respect through contrast, which opens a space for it to be utterly contemporary. It was designed by Local Studio, a relatively new architecture studio that specialises in socially and historically significant sites. The designers have struck upon an approach that has a respectful lightness of touch while retaining flair.”
